Rene Mugnier
Rene Mugnier, Principal of Rene Mugnier Associates, Inc., based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has over 30 years' experience in structural engineering with an extensive portfolio in rehabilitation, covering a wide range of structural problems including under-designed structures, repair of damaged structures, shoring, settlement and underpinning work, as
well as accommodating architectural renovations. He has inspected thousands of single and multi-family buildings and has designed and overseen new construction as well as structural repairs, renovations and additions to a very large number of buildings.
Rene Mugnier Associates, Inc. was the structural engineering firm for a large number of award-winning projects such as Artists for Humanity.

- Durham City Hall, Durham, Hampshire, which received the Excellence in Architectural Award from the New England Regional Council of the American Institute of Architects;
- Close Building, Cambridge, Massachusetts, which received the Award of Merit from the New England Regional Council of the American Institute of Architects.
- Berman Residence, Weston, Massachusetts, which received the AIA Honor Award for Private Residence, Honorable Mention, New England Regional Council of the American Institute of Architects; and the Architectural Record Magazine Award for Excellence in Design for Private Residences, Record Houses, front page of Architectural Record Magazine.
A graduate of l'Ecole Special des Travaux Publics in Paris, France, Mr. Mugnier is recognized as an expert in legal cases concerning older wood-framed buildings. He has traveled extensively around the world working for notable engineering firms based in France, Mexico, and the Boston area.
Mr. Mugnier studied reinforced concrete "Design of a Nuclear Plant', Soil Foundations and advanced computer "Application of computers to structural frames" at M.I.T. as a special student.
Mr. Mugnier had the privilege of being selected in 1996 to be the structural engineer for the renovation of Mr. Bob Vila's house (of "Bob Vila's Home Again) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mr. Mugnier has been a registered professional structural engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, Tennessee, and Iowa. He has been affiliated with the Boston Association of Structural Engineers, for which he served as President in 1984, and with the American Institute of Steel Construction, The American Concrete Institute, and the New England Chapter of the American Society of Home Inspectors, Inc.
Mr. Mugnier Lectured several times to the "American Society of Home Inspectors".
Rene Mugnier is the author of "Structural Investigation and Repair". Single and multi-family dwellings book.
